My name is Genny Petschulat, and I teach Kindergarten at Glencliff Entrepreneurial Steam Magnet Elementary School. As MNEA’s Social Justice Committee chair, I work on the issues that affect teachers and students in public schools. Currently, I am leading a campaign for Nashville’s teachers to receive the paid family and maternity leave that we deserve – just like Nashville city employees now receive. As a young union leader, I am excited about revitalizing our membership by providing teachers with empowering information about the best political candidates who will support public education in our state.
